
ABOUT ME
Professor Dr Levent Cavas is currently the member of the Faculty of Science, Department of Chemistry in the Dokuz Eylül University.
He obtained his PhD from the Dokuz Eylül University in 2005 and then he continued his studies and research in the same university.
Dr Cavas’s scientific interests are in the areas of biochemistry and biotechnology.
Invasive Caulerpa species in the Mediterranean Sea, isolation of bioactive agents from marine organisms, antioxidant molecules, biofouling, antifouling paints and biocides, bioinformatics. He has over than 69 published papers in the SCI journals with 800 citations.
Prof Cavas has research collaborations with european universities. He was principal investigator in the FP7 supported Project “High-throughput development of carbon-polymer nanocomposites for marine applications” in Dokuz Eylül University and he is one of the partner researcher in the H2020 project (https://msc-alff.org/).
Prof Cavas is married and has a 8 years old daughter.
